Dural Tissue THerapy

Created to Treat Trauma of the Dural and Meningeal tissues of the nervous systems.

Dural Tissue Therapy

Dural Tissue Therapy (DTT) is a series of techniques designed to help the body recognise damage to the Dural & Meningeal tissues and aid healing.

The Dural & Meningeal tissues have long been considered a subset of the nervous tissue, it is often not considered a source of pain and dysfunction but it can actually lead to chronic pain patterns and restriction in Range Of Motion.

Dural Tissue Therapy is a series of techniques designed to facilitate the communication between the Motor Sensory pathways to aid in the restoration of normal Dural & Meningeal Function. This will lead to an increase in Range of Motion and Function. But most importantly it can be the missing piece of the puzzle for pain patterns.

What is Dural tissue Therapy?

Dural Tissue Therapy

Is the treatment of the Dural & Meningeal tissues that can be damaged in many ways.

Common injuries to the Dural and Meningeal tissue are caused by:

  • High velocity injuries like whiplash or other motor vehicle accidents

  • High force Traumas from falls, sporting injuries and physical traumas

  • Concussion and head injuries damaging the Meningeal & Dural tissues

  • Disc bulges causing dural tissue damage from compression of the nerve or inflammation of the dural tissue leading to scar tissue and pain.

These types of trauma’s can lead to damage of the Dural or Meningeal tissues leading to pain, Numbness, Pins & Needles symptoms & in some occasions loss of strength in the musculoskeletal system. The most common symptom of Dural and Meningeal tissue damage is a reduction in Range of Motion.

Dural Tissue Therapy utilises Kinesiology style muscle testing techniques with specific contact points to evaluate Dural and Meningeal tissue damage and facilitate the bodies natural healing mechanism to restore function to the tissues.

How did Dural tissue therapy develop?

These treatment protocols have been developed over clinical application since 2014, founded on years of experience in Osteopathy, graduating in 2002 and the application and refinement of Neural Integration Medicine techniques studied since 2004. This education combined with Pilates work and training since the year 2000 has allowed me to develop unique insights into a core factor that is not often addressed when treating chronic musculoskeletal patterns. The Dural and Meningeal tissue damage.

MISSION for Dural Tissue Therapy

There are so many people in the world who are suffering from Chronic Musculoskeletal pain and many of them have experienced trauma to the Dural and Meningeal tissues from a High velocity or High force trauma or other physical injury.

If we can teach medical practitioners and therapist around the world how to be able to affectively assist the bodies natural healing mechanisms to recover from trauma to the Dural and Meningeal tissues then hopefully there can be less people in the world who suffer from chronic musculoskeletal pain. Wouldn’t that be nice !!

Restoring function

Dural Tissue Therapy helps the body to Optimise the structure of the supportive tissues of the Nervous systems in the entire body.

This allows increased Range of Motion

Improved Cerebral Spinal Fluid ( CFS ) movement

Aids in the mobility and movement of spinal and musculoskeletal joints.
